Data stored in S3 buckets contains sensitive data – Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as credit card information. One common mistake is not encrypting this S3 bucket data. To protect such confidential data and comply with regulatory requirements, proper encryption mechanisms for data at rest and in transit should be applied.
